This year, in conjunction with our Literary Café, Afr’Am Fest launched a literacy campaign, “Reading is a Family Affair!”  The purpose of this campaign is to encourage more families to read together at home.  Through promoting literature in all genres at various events leading up to the festival, our goal is to encourage youth to pick up a book, no matter what their taste may be.

We have expanded the Literary Café to include all the elements of a traditional café with a literary flair!  Visitors can peruse at their leisure some of the best offerings of African-American literature in one setting.  At the center of the Literary Café is the Author’s Pavilion.  Here is where visitors will find our main bookstore, a host of local/small press authors, and our main café features.  Each day we will feature different genres and provide activities that center around that genre.

Saturday
