The Southeastern Virginia Arts Association invites you to the illustrious and exhilarating, Afr’Am Fest. During Memorial Day Weekend 2008, we anticipate another glorious and memorable event at the lovely Town Point Park in downtown Norfolk, Virginia. At the family friendly Afr’Am Fest, we celebrate African American culture and annually welcome over 100,000 guests. A highlight of this festive event is depicted in our theme, “CELEBRATING THE ESSENCE OF FAMILY”, A celebration of the African American Family, Arts, and Culture, which will be promoted through the arts, educational displays, the “Children’s Village”, scrumptious culinary offerings, entertainment that covers the music spectrum and of course the fabulous “Shop ‘Til You Drop” MARKETPLACE, better known as" Mattie’s Place", and the multicultural “Food Court”.
